Happy B Corp Month, everyone! We hope you all have enjoyed the B Corp events, spotlights, and discovering new B Corps this month! If this is news to you, March every year is B Corp Month! This year’s theme is celebrating how B Corps ‘go beyond.’ As a certified B Corp media consultancy, we are proud to be part of a global community of businesses that prioritize social and environmental impact alongside financial performance. In this blog post, we want to share with you how we go above and beyond for our clients and why being a B Corp matters to us.
For us, being a B Corp means more than just obtaining a certification. It means going beyond traditional media buying services to help our clients build capacity and increase impact in meaningful ways. According to a recent survey by Cone Communications, 87% of consumers would purchase a product because a company advocated for an issue they care about. This shows that consumers are demanding more from businesses and expect them to prioritize social and environmental impact alongside financial performance.
We understand that impact-driven businesses require more than just traditional media services. That’s why we analyze data and insights, develop strategies, create content, and amplify that impact for our values-aligned clients, which include non-profits and other social enterprises. We believe that every organization has the potential to make a positive difference in the world, and we’re committed to helping them do just that.
One way we go beyond traditional media services is through our podcast, Responsibly Different™, where we explore the intersection of business and social and environmental impact. Through engaging conversations with experts and innovators in the field, we share insights and best practices that can help businesses become more responsible and sustainable. According to a report by Edison Research, 80% of podcast listeners spend more than seven hours a week listening to podcasts. This shows that podcasting is an effective way to reach and engage with a highly invested audience.
But we don’t stop there. In the coming months, we’ll be announcing capacity-building courses that will help make some of our insights and strategies more widely accessible. We believe that everyone should have access to the tools and knowledge they need to create positive change, and we’re excited to play a part in making that happen.
Another example of how we go beyond just media buying for our clients is the several current clients we have that come to us specifically for our capacity-building support in their organizations. They are not utilizing our media services at all. We have a team of folks with extensive experience on non-profit boards with deep management and volunteer leadership development skills, who are leading impact-driven initiatives both inside and outside our company. According to a report by Deloitte, 89% of employees believe that companies that sponsor volunteer activities offer a better overall working environment. This is just one way that we are helping all companies have a more impact driven mission.
